Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

Immunohistochemical staining-or immunohistochemistry-is a methodology that detects specific markers (antigens) in tissues. IHC uses a building-block system of antibodies, conjugates, and chromagens (color reagents) to detect these markers. Specific antigens are associated with particular types of cancer. The antibodies used to detect these antigens can be polyclonal or monoclonal, with greater sensitivity achieved using monoclonal antibodies. Immunohistochemistry is widely used for diagnostic and prognostic characterization of carcinomas, lymphoma/leukemias, sarcomas, and melanomas.

US LABS is an experienced leader in immunohistochemistry, offering an extensive menu of more than 240 antibodies and pioneering the use of double and triple stains. Multiple staining on the same slide conserves valuable tissue and also allows several items of interest to be viewed simultaneously without
having to move between slides.
